Who We Are:
We are Without Exception Films, a women-led independent production company based in Los Angeles, CA. Our projects include docuseries and full-length documentaries that we develop end-to-end both in-house and through dynamic partnerships with other filmmakers.
Our now completed three-part docuseries, UNMUTED, aims to lift the veil on gender-based violence. The project was selected by the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) as a Commitment to Actions (CTA) focused on Women & Girls Equity. A CTA “is a positive and effective social impact project that is new, specific, and measurable.”
And we need YOUR HELP to launch a comprehensive impact campaign that further enlarges the impact and inspires actions for people globally.
UNMUTED Summary:
1 in 3 women globally will experience gender-based violence in their lifetime.
A 2024 Clinton Global Initiative selection and a Realscreen MIPTV Pick, UNMUTED follows eight women from across the globe through their journeys of reclaiming their agency and rebuilding their lives against seemingly insurmountable odds. With interviews led by Constance Wu (Crazy Rich Asian), Marie Avgeropoulos (The 100), and Torrey DeVitto (Chicago Med), audiences will learn about the complex socio-cultural factors that lead to people becoming victims of gender based violence, including Child Marriage, Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting, and Acid Attacks - along with the non-traditional solutions that individuals and non-government organizations (NGOs) are using to protect women and girls.
Here's what we need your help with:
We have worked with experienced impact producer Together Films to develop a full-scale impact campaign strategy, and are now fundraising for the impact campaign focused on the key issues addressed in UNMUTED. (You can read more about our campaign strategy here.)
This 12-month multilateral impact campaign includes; reaching communities and ‘everyday advocates,’ through an international non-theatrical grassroots tour of 100-200 educational screenings of UNMUTED with toolkits to provide audiences with actionable steps to champion women and girls’ agency, choice, safety and freedom in their communities and beyond, engaging policy-makers through 10 special events/workshops hosted by the series-makers to drive high-level policy improvements, and an integrated social media campaign to amplify and unify this work on the ground.
The full budget for the campaign stands at $400,000. But with as little as $100,000, we can initiate the campaign immediately and continue to fundraise while creating impact.
